Education at Liberty Arts

Our Education program is an important and vital part of Liberty Arts. We serve our community with two education programs: Explorations and We Art Together. The Exploration Program invites students into our gallery for a hand’s on experience and exposure to the art. For students that can’t make it into the gallery, our We Art Together program is a take-home art project focusing on our changing exhibits.

After being closed due to covid, the Explorations Program has reopened, and since January we have hosted over 240 visiting students.

Our 90-minute programs are tailored to make the most out of their visits to the gallery; beginning with an introduction to the current show, a docent tour, and most fun of all, a hands-on art project reflecting techniques, materials and/or media used by the artists.

Available visit-days are Mondays and Tuesdays, morning or afternoon session. For more information on scheduling a visit, please contact the gallery.

Throughout COVID19 restrictions, Liberty Arts was able to continue our art education outreach through the creation and distribution of over 1,500 We Art Together binders. Each individual lesson included step-by-step directions and supplies to encourage students to create their own works of art, both in-class or independently through distanced-learning.

We are grateful to exhibiting artists Charlie Mills and Joaquin Delaluz for meeting with students to talk about their ideas about art and give demonstrations, to Troy Davis for allowing classes to meet in the Empire Room and to our following sponsors:

Schools will be able to sign up for the 2022-23 academic year
