Liberty Arts Presents “Homage – Art in the Style of an Artist in History”
Curated by Jill Gardner and Linda Vivas
Homage is an opportunity to educate ourselves and our community about art history in a fun and interactive way. It celebrates the artists whose work we love while at the same time stretches our own creative skills.
Opening Reception: Friday, September 13th, 5-8 pm
Please join us for The Homage Masquerade Ball. All are encouraged to come dressed as an artist in history OR a particular piece of art in history…regardless of whether you have art in the show or not!
Costumed Catwalk* on the plaza from 6:30-7:30 pm.
This will be the creative public event of the season ~ not to be missed! (*Costumed participants who choose to do the catwalk are asked to provide a brief written description of their costume for the announcer.)
“Homage” Runs: September 13 – October 19, 2013
Curators:
Linda Vivas earned a Masters in Art History while living in the Netherlands.
Jill Gardner studied art history while living in Switzerland, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Both women grew up in Southern California, in the midst of west coast contemporary art and design. This dichotomy of old and new fuels a broad reach of interest for the curators.
