“Gazpacho” Annual Members’ Exhibition
10 years, 9 months ago Posted in: Past Exhibits 3

Liberty Arts serves up a spicy summer delight with Annual Members’ Show, “Gazpacho.”

Gazpacho features a zesty fusion of styles, sizes and media by 50 different Siskiyou County artists.

This ceramic (yes, really!) sculpture, “War Horse,” by Sharon Swingle makes for a handsome window display.

The Annual Members’ Show is the only show of the year that has no theme, no jury and no rules. As long as you are a paid Member of Liberty Arts, you can bring any one piece of art to hang. Considering this, “Gazpacho” turned out to be an surprisingly cohesive exhibition.

“Loveknot” by David Gochenour

“Gazpacho” includes work by Roger Carol, Don Hall, Lewis Meyers, Jr., Carol Jenkins, Eloise Larson, and David Shutteroff, whose beautifully crafted pot (foreground) sold at the opening reception.

The variety of ingredients that make up “Gazpacho” promise at least one satisfying flavor for everyone’s palate.

“Sea Grass Egg” by Jane Hall

“Protectress Of The Little Shasta Meadow” by Ron Richards is a staff favorite, since its righteous subject is Liberty Arts’ own Bee Soulé. Go, Bee, go!

“Gazpacho” includes work by Robbie Mossgraber, David Thompson and Jennifer Pentrack.

This mixed-media extravaganza by Marlis Jermutus is titled, “Everybody’s Okay So Far/3am Silicon Time,” and features several gold circuit boards throughout the piece.

Please visit Liberty Arts in person to view the rest of this Spicy Summer Delight. “Gazpacho” runs through Saturday, September 10, 2011.

Gallery hours Wednesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm. Liberty Arts is located at 108 W. Miner Street, Yreka, California 96097.

Wow, what a beautiful show. I was there opening night, but it’s great to see it again. Kudo’s Liberty for the new pillars. They look great!
